This Privacy Policy explains how Heeler Digital ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Circles & Squares mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
Account information — your email address (used to create and secure your account) and a display name. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive Apple's account-specific identifier and, when Apple provides them, your name and email address (which may be an Apple private-relay address). We never receive your Apple ID password.
Profile details — optional information you add, such as a golf handicap and payment-app usernames (for example, a Venmo or Cash App handle). A payment handle is shown only to members of a competition you share so the App can open the selected payment service for a settle-up payment.
Guest participation — if you use a guest invitation or App Clip, we collect the display name you choose and create temporary player and claim identifiers so you can join one competition and later keep that history in a full account.
Content you create — scores, competitions, side-bet records, trip plans, friend connections, messages, polls, and photos you post to a competition or chat.
Information collected automatically
Identifiers — an account identifier and identifiers linking you to the players and competitions you participate in.
Device permissions and delivery identifiers — with your permission, the App accesses your camera and photo library to scan scorecards and share photos. It may store an Expo push token for activity alerts and, while you use a Round Companion Live Activity, temporarily store Apple's per-activity push identifier linked to your account and active round. You can control notification, camera, and photo permissions in your device settings.
Guest security and interaction data — for guest invitations, we retain hashed app-device and claim identifiers, invitation status, and limited event results such as previewed, joined, or failed. We use these only to prevent duplicate or abusive joins, complete account claims, and operate the feature. We do not store the raw invitation or claim credential.
Purchases
Subscriptions — Apple processes Monthly and Season subscriptions through In-App Purchase. We retain Apple's signed transaction identifiers and the current subscription status and period needed to provide and restore your plan. We never receive or store your full card number.
2. How We Use Information
To provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features (scoring, competitions, trip planning, and social features).
To create and secure your account and authenticate you.
To display leaderboards, profiles, activity, and the shared "who owes who" ledger to members of competitions you join.
To send activity notifications you have enabled.
To process and manage subscriptions purchased through the App.
To respond to your support requests and enforce our Terms of Use, including keeping the App safe from abuse.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
With other users — content you post to a competition (scores, messages, photos, polls, and ledger entries) is visible to other members of that competition, consistent with the App's features. Optional payment handles are visible only to competition members when needed for settle-up links.
With service providers — we use trusted providers to run the App, including Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Apple (Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases, notification delivery, and Live Activity updates), Expo (push notifications), and Anthropic (optional scorecard scanning, Rules Assistant questions, and Wrapped recap features). They process data only to provide services to us.
For legal reasons — if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Heeler Digital.
In a business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. Live Activity delivery identifiers expire or are revoked after the activity ends, and any temporary final-delivery record expires within 36 hours. You can permanently delete your account from Profile → Account → Delete Account in the App. We delete your personal data and de-identify shared score history except where we are required to retain information by law. Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription; Apple billing must be managed separately in your Apple ID subscription settings.
5. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted transport and access controls provided by our infrastructure partners, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Children's Privacy
Circles & Squares involves tracking wagers between adults and is not intended for children. The App is intended for users 17 years of age or older, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your Choices
You can edit your profile and content within the App, and control camera, photo, and notification permissions in your device settings.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.
You may request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date, and where appropriate, we will provide additional notice in the App.
